WE WELCOME OUR VISITORS

We welcome our visitors and hope you'll feel that you're our honored guest which you are.  Hopefully you'll be able to remain for a few minutes after services to let us meet you and answer any questions you may have about our service.

When you arrive at our building you'll see that we have two drives.  Use either drive.  Parking is at the rear of the building and we have the most convenient parking spots reserved for our visitors.  Also, on the north side of our building there is handicapped parking and a handicap accessible entrance.  Our main entrance is at the front of the building and covered walkways on either side of the building connect it to the parking area.

WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU WORSHIP WITH US

Our worship is grounded in one thing only - God's Word, the Bible.  We do not presume to improve on God's instructions for his people and, thus have no man-made creeds to supplement the Bible.  Where the Bible speaks, we speak.  Where the Bible is silent, we are silent.  We do our very best to do Bible things in Bible ways and to call Bible things by Bible names. To be precise, we do not add to nor take from God's Word.  We do our best to exactly duplicate the church you read about in the New Testament - the church Christ established - the ONE church He established.

CHURCH ORGANIZATION

Our organization consists of the local congregation "reporting to" it's only headquarters in Heaven - no intermediate headquarters.  The church's leadership consists of Elders (also referred to in God's word as overseers, bishops, shepherds and, pastors). Deacons may be appointed to serve as directed by the elders in providing for the needs of the congregation.  There is one supreme leader - Jesus Christ.  That simple organization is the only church organization you'll find in God's word and it's the pattern we follow. Our elders oversee the church family in this congregation but have no authority elsewhere.   We may support preachers in other areas, but only with the elders in full control of that funding.  We do NOT send funds to a central organization of any kind to control how the money is used.

Other than the elders having oversight over us with deacons assisting them, the only other element in our organization is Christians.  Our preacher is not a link in our "leadership" chain.  He is a Christian like the rest of us.  He is NOT "our pastor".  He may be a pastor as well as a preacher, but will never be "THE" pastor because God's word dictates that there will be a plurality of elders (pastors); never only one.

MUSIC

We love music.  And, we use music in our worship just as God has prescribed.  Singing !!  That is the only music God has authorized in New Testament worship.  He has specified "singing and making music in our hearts" but nowhere is there a reference to anything other than singing in the church Christ established.  So, God has spoken on that subject and we cannot presume to improve on it by adding instruments.

THE LORD'S SUPPER

According to God's Word, we celebrate the Lord's death, burial and resurrection on the 1st day of the week.  We break unleavened bread to commemorate the sacrifice of Christ's body, and we drink grape juice (fruit of the vine) to commemorate the sacrifice of His blood.  We do this EVERY 1st day.

GIVING

In the Bible we read that when early Christians met on the 1st day of the week to worship and observe the Lord's Supper, they also gave of their means.  This example tells us that this is an expected part of our worship to God.  We don't give to the church - we give to God.

For our visitors, you may be members at another congregation of Christians in which case, your weekly contributions are a vital part of that congregation's budget.  We do not expect contributions from you but, should you make a contribution to the work at this congregation, be assured that it will be used in a way prescribed in God's word.

PREACHING

You should expect to hear nothing which is not supported by scripture preached here.  If you you have questions about anything you hear, please ask one of our members.  If you hear anything which is not according to scripture, you will be our best friend to tell us about it.  We hope the lesson you hear will benefit you and strengthen you in your faith.
